Malingo - the Midwest’s darling indie folk band - has a single goal in mind: to move you in one way or another. Their music blends folk, bluegrass, and psychedelic blues for a sound that is often nostalgic, often melancholy, often intense, but always emotional. American Beech brings together the heart of classic Americana with the grit of alt-country. With influences spanning from the raw energy of Southern rock to the storytelling traditions of classic country, their sound is both nostalgic and refreshingly modern. The band features singer and songwriter Aaron Lucas, lead guitar player Mark Alexander, bass player Ryan Dill, and drummer Dan Porter.

The band was born from a love of roots music and a desire to blend the old with the new. Their music speaks to listeners who grew up on the legends of Johnny Cash and The Allman Brothers, but who also appreciate the introspective songwriting of more contemporary Americana artists like Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson.
