Turntable
Rattlesnake Milk with special guest Low Gap at Turntable in Indianapolis on Monday, June 2, 2025!
Rattlesnake Milk
From the southern plains of Texas, Rattlesnake Milk summons the sound of the prairie, mimicking the howl of coyotes and the pulsing rhythm of a lonesome junk train.
While farming cotton for a family friend, Lou Lewis found inspiration to record an eight-song demo listening to the classics played on KDAV 1590AM in the empty flatlands of his hometown. Those demos paid homage to Lou’s favorite Dust Bowl migrant songs and haunted melodic gems from the 50s and 60s.
Now, with the help of Corey Alvarez, and Andrew Chavez, Rattlesnake Milk captures the ephemeral soundscape of the Texas panhandle in the studio and on the stage.
Low Gap
Low Gap is primed to take the Country Music world by storm. Brothers Gus and Phin Johnson are relatively young musicians but are already making an impact with their authentic writing and catchy tunes. With roots in Eastern Kentucky and Southeastern Ohio, Gus and Phin grew up listening to Bluegrass and Americana music. That—combined with Folk, Country, and Classic and Southern Rock—creates the unique tone that has become the duo's signature sound. Gus wrote his first song at 13 years old, and only months later wrote “Mockingbird,” their biggest hit, which was ranked second on Grady Smith’s list of “non-hit singles” for 2022. The brothers backed the success of “Mockingbird” up with a self-titled album full of passion and relatability. In July of 2024, Low Gap was featured in Rolling Stone, Holler, and multiple other notable publications after releasing their single, “Waves,” which was written with the late great Keith Gattis. Low Gap is currently finishing up a 12-song album set to release in 2025.
